East Branch Comstock Brook
and the
Quarry Head Park

<< PREVIOUS     (3)     NORWALK RIVER >>

The East Branch of the Comstock Brook starts just north of Pelham Lane on the Ridgefield/Wilton town line, about half-way between the Weir Farm and the Woodcock Nature Center. For most of its course, the brook flows through private properties and is not accessable (or even visible) to the public.

One place where it can be visited is at Quarry Head, a public park at the site of Wilton's most notable quarry, and at the adjoining Harrison Smith Preserves. Access to the park is through a narrow driveway between 760 and 764, Ridgefield Road (Route 33).
