Gilbert
& Bennett Brook is the only named
tributary in the Norwalk River watershed
that lies entirely within the town of
Redding. It begins near Huckleberry
Hill and empties into Factory Pond.
One popular hiking spot in this area
lies on a parcel of land that was formerly
owned by Elsie Hill, a pioneering feminist.
It wasn't a proper farm lot or even
a good wood lot, since it didn't seem
to "grow" anything but rocks. Thus,
it was called the Rock Lot.
Hazen Pond, high in the hills above
Factory Pond.

St.
Pecks Pond, also on Peaceable St, but
on a small
tributary of its own, down to the Norwalk
River.
Scott Preserve, adjacent to Pecks Pond
and also adjacent to the "Rock Lot".
